Role Summary/Purpose: In this role, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating test plans, test reports, analyses and other deliverables for new Advanced Turboprop Engine commercial certification. You work directly with design and test engineers, with FAA/EASA and their delegates to satisfy regulatory compliance. Creating organized, clear presentations of complex technical information will be fundamental to your work, and your deep understanding of aviation turbine engine systems will be challenged.
Essential Responsibilities: Position is open within the ATP Certification & Test team located at GE Aviation Czech in Prague. In your role you will:
  • Become expert at executing the FAA/EASA and GE ODA engine certification processes,
  • Research and present expert analysis on federal regulations, advisory circulars, acceptable means, special conditions, memos, agreements and precedents across a wide range of engineering topics,
  • Identify requirements gaps, overlap, risks and opportunities, advising the Certification Leader to adjust program management schedules as appropriate,
  • Lead the authoring, standardization, completeness and quality control of assigned certification deliverables (test plans, certification reports, manuals, formal responses, etc.) for government administrator approval,
  • Review and edit engineering reports to ensure the scope is appropriate to the customer and the compliance case is sufficient for first time yield,
  • Directly author safety and compliance substantiations involving the consolidation of multiple engineering and test team inputs,
  • Manage assigned deliverables for on-time delivery in a complex framework of prerequisites and dependencies,
  • Host multilateral reviews between engineering specialist(s) and the approving authority to defend certification submittals and agree to revisions as needed,
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing in the English language, and exceptional skill with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint,
  • Record and maintain official evidence of compliance in the appropriate GE and FAA libraries.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) from an accredited college,
  • Experience with turbine engines, turboprop systems and engine components,
  • Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills,
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment,
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint,
  • Fluent communication in English is a must.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Diverse experience across engineering proficiencies is preferred (aerodynamics, mechanical, materials, software, systems integration, etc.),
  • Experience with GE engine certification procedures,
  • Experience with requirements and/or legal writing,
  • Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 33 and EASA CS-E regulations,
  • Certified pilot or mechanic experience.
