Role Summary/Purpose: Engine Test Engineer will be responsible for one or more test engines (depending on test complexity) during new Advanced Turboprop Engine (ATP) test program. You will manage that all tests on the engine(s) are defined and conducted in time and quality to meet program objectives.
Essential Responsibilities: Position is open within the ATP Cert&Test organization structure and physically will be located at GE Aviation Czech in Prague in close contact to the test facilities. You will work with global and on site cert, design, instrumentation and test teams. In your role you will:
  • Manage and assess test requirements, develop test approach and provide cost / time estimates,
  • Manage test design reviews,
  • Write engine test plans for engineering and certification test,
  • Develop test engine configuration,
  • Coordinate and develop top level engine instrumentation layout and instrumentation plan,
  • Cooperate with instrumentation team and hardware owners,
  • Specify requirements and review test enabling hardware design and preparation,
  • Monitor engine status during each phase (preparation, instrumentation, assembly, test, disassembly and layout),
  • Organize test supervising team, perform general oversight of testing and ensure proper documentation,
  • Manage post test data distribution,
  • Manage/coordinate Engine layout (disassembly, inspection),
  • Analyze problems or difficulties and recommends action to be taken,
  • Be responsible for creating clear, concise and accurate engineering documentation using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint,
  • Communicate statuses accurately and regularly to Management, recommending solutions for problems encountered,
  • Assist in planning and coordination with project groups.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor/Master´s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) from an accredited college or university with proven experience in a testing or engineering position,
  • Experiences with leading engine/components tests of aerospace or industrial products,
  • Solid project leadership skills,
  • Strong problem solving skills,
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment,
  • Strong communication and presentation skills,
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint,
  • Fluent communication in English is a must,
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time, both locally and internationally.
