Role Summary/Purpose: The Safety & Reliability Lead Engineer supports the leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: The Safety & Reliability Engineer is responsible for managing and accomplishing a broad range of reliability and flight safety tasks for assigned products in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, preferably he / she should have knowledge of aero engine reliability, flight safety criteria, the Aerospace Authorities and their regulations.
Next you will:
  • Support the establishment of the technical requirements, objectives, timing, resources and funding required and assuring conformance to standards and specifications,
  • Support cross functional teams assisting the Local and Global Flight Safety functions,
  • Participate on teams that address Safety and Reliability issues,
  • Provide guidance and training to ensure GEAC complies with the Flight Safety and SMS procedures, participates in the GEAC Safety Board,
  • Perform Safety & Reliability Analyses e.g. FMEA, FTA, Risk Assessments and Compliance Times Assessments,
  • Assist with Safety and Accident investigations,
  • Maintain good relationship with Aviation Authorites,
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or equivalent in knowledge/experience),
  • Proven record of experience in an engineering position, preferably with an Aerospace Propulsion System Manufacturer,
  • Proficient in performing Safety Analyses, Risk Assessment, FMEA, FTA, Weibull /Reliability Growth analysis and use of the associated tools,
  • Strong oral and written communication skills,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team work,
  • Proficiency in English language.

  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Regulations e.g. CS-E and Part 21,
  • Ability to influence and mentor the others,
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously,
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
