Role Summary/Purpose: You will be responsible for supporting the ATP team to work in line with Global Compliance system rules. In particular you will focus on International Trade Compliance (ITC) aspects & on creating a set of operational guidelines, so to ensure that program design &development are performed at multiple sites &that program is in line with Airworthiness requirements defined, with the main objective to obtain FAA Engine Type Certification and EASA Engine Production Authorization Certification.
Essential Responsibilities: In strong coordination and partnership with the ATP Program Global Compliance Leader, you will provide support all the compliance related aspects of the ATP program, including but not limited to the following:

  • Support all the aspects related to ITC:

    • Analysis of compliance of tools used to develop and support design activities, testing and qualification, sourcing, and vendor substantiation
    • Support the definition of requirements of License with respect to the export rules of the different countries involved in the ATP programs, with attention to avoid un necessary export constraints
    • Support the design team from the ITC point of view in the ongoing tagging process in EU, US, and other country jurisdictions (i.e., tagging process meaning definition of need for an Export License)
    • Verify all the above in close coordination with the Legal Departments

  • Ensure availability and consistency of a set of operational guidelines to be applied in the development phase of the program, to support the design and , as required, the industrialization phase of activity
  • Ensure availability of a set of operational guidelines, as required to support Airworthiness and ensure that the design is developed in line with the defined rules;
  • Serve as a reference for compliance related issues as, f.i., IP protection, vendor selection with respect to ITC problems etc.
  • With reference to the Program, ensure consistency between local rules and general GEA rules, considering also difference in National, European and US legislation


  • Work, in coordiantion and under supervision of ATP global compliance leader, on executing and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Lead business initiatives in design, materials, manufacturing, quality and/or productivity relating to the Italian activities
  • Define and develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity
  • Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization
  • Lead technical reviews and participate as a reviewer
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Aeronautical preferred
  • Previous proven experience in an engineering position
  • Detailed knowledge of EU export regulation (A candidate who is a tagger in either or both regimes would be ideal)
  • Familiarity with country specific military export regs-not necessarily all of them but awareness of at least one would be good
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools and guidelines
  • Familiar with proprietary information guidelines
  • Strong Technology background required
  • Preference for European candidate (as to comply with requirement of certain EU customers)
  • Knowledge of Design processes ( design, testing, certification, reliability / failure analysis, and knowledge tools for at least some of the activities etc.)
  • Knowledge of procedure systems related to design
  • Knowledge of requirements for Design System Certification in interface with Airworthiness
  • Certification principle from Aeronautical civil and military authority
  • Knowledge of Engineering IT Tools (Configuration management, design review, record keeping, …)
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • EU Work Permit
