| Role Summary/Purpose: | The Engineering Sub-Section Manager, Aero-Performance-Thermal demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. |
| Essential Responsibilities: | - Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
- Provide support council and recommendations to section management
- Establish the technical requirements, objectives, timing, resources and funding required and assuring conformance to standards and specifications
- Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
- Provide interface within performance engineers, program/project managers and section managers
- Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues
- Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
- Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning
- Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling
- Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group
- As necessary, make decisions affecting airworthiness and environmental protection as per delegation in Design Organization Handbook
- Support new/derivative engine development and drive the cooperation across the GE sites globally

| Qualifications/Requirements: | - Master degree in Engineering specialized in Aerospace or Turbomachinery
- Strong expertise in leadership role within an engineering environment
- Required turbo-machinery background, thermodynamics knowledge preferable
- Understanding of Design Organization Approvals
- Experience with design practices in Aerospace industry
- Aware of certification processes – required procedures, tests
- Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures
